Now days with the economy being what it is, everything is so expensive--especially furniture.  When I was moving into my apartment a few years ago, I only had a mattress (not even a box spring!) and no bed frame.  I can tell you firsthand how uncomfortable it is sleeping on a lumpy mattress that offers little or no support.  Several months after moving in, I was gifted a box spring but still couldn't afford a bed frame.  Even with the box spring, my mattress was too low to the ground (and made it too easy for my pets to jump on the bed with me.)

The reason I prefer that bed frame is because it won't allow for things to go missing under it (very important since sometimes I can be forgetful).  I also like that it's an all steel frame which means it's durable and will last me for years to come.  The best part is that even though it's already cheap at $159.90--it's only $20 more if you have a larger sized bed like a Queen, Cal King, or Eastern King.  Most companies would charge more and more as the size goes up, but with HomeandLiving.com, the extra charge is just a flat rate and it's not that much when you consider that shipping is free and the item is untaxed!
